Well, last night was The International Party at LUGGAGE 😏
Though many of you may not remember this, back when we were hosting parties at MyBar in Sakae, Small World parties were on a completely different scale. Hundreds of people would attend these parties. There’s one particular night I remember when we are at the height of our success. There were well already over 100 people at this particular MyBar International Party, and it was so packed that you couldn’t even open the door to the venue. I’d squeezed myself through the crowd and outside to tell whoever was on the door to stop letting people in, and was stunned to see that there was a line stretching out along the corridor to the main road. As many people waiting outside as there were already inside. And it was at this point that I realised two things: First, we needed a bigger venue! And second, that we were really onto something special.
The next day, we started scouting new, bigger venues, and we soon found LUGGAGE. A couple of months later, we hosted our first event in the new location under the new name, “The International Party”. The debut event had over 200 guests.
Two months later, the pandemic hit, and we shut all of our events down for the next two years. We never got to see the true potential of The International Party. For the last two years, I’ve been waiting, waiting, anticipating this return to form, and last night, I think we got a glimpse of what I had always hoped this event would become someday.
Last night was the best attended International Party we’ve had since 2019, with a huge number of first timers, and just as many returnees. Incredible DJ sets from K1 and Keigo that mixed pop favourites with some fruity house bangers. Drinks flowing. Electricity in the air. The entire room became a dancefloor by 10PM. Fire.
With the pandemic behind us, The International Party is going to keep growing, and we’ll finally be able to realise some of the goals and dreams that we’ve had for years.
If I’m right, the best is yet to come. This is only the beginning.
If you attended The International Party last night, I hope you had as much fun as I did. I really hope that you’ll join us again next month on November 5, and that you’ll tell your friends! Share share share these incredible pictures, tag yourself, tag your friends, and let’s make this party the biggest in Nagoya.
“Nagoya is boring”, sheesh, I’d like to see Kyoto, Osaka, or even Tokyo create this kind of energy. We are unstoppable.
See you at the next one 😉
