It looks like we're in the season of event anniversaries! This month marks the fourth year of Sunday Pick Me Up!
Can you believe it's been 1 whole year of SWFCC International Futsal?? A big shoutout to all of our dedicated participants for attending these events and building this vibrant community.
I've been in London for the last two weeks so I've been unable to host or attend any events for most of July, but thanks to FCC Futsal we were still able to host the monthly SWFCC International Futsal kick-about.
It took three months but FINALLY we managed to host the elusive Small World Summer BBQ, and it coincided with my birthday! It's been five years since we last hosted a BBQ and it was so good to be out in the sunshine with some incredible food provided by the experts at Lia's Kitchen.
Before the blistering heat of summer, residents of Japan have to endure around six weeks of rain, known as tsuyu (rainy season). This, of course, puts a 'dampener' on all of our outdoor events. Sunday Pick Me Up has been cancelled due to poor weather for the last two months, but finally this month the Eco-Heroes were able to return to the streets to clean up the city.
Rain or shine, the SWFCC International Futsal fun doesn't stop! This past Saturday we kicked things up a notch at Wakamiya Futsal Park, proving that a little rain doesn't dampen our spirits. With the weather setting a dramatic stage, our seasoned players and eager newcomers turned out in force, undeterred by the drizzle.
We wouldn’t be able to pick a better day if we tried! A warm & sunny day at a lovely park with some 20 plus people looking at things like they’ve never seen before. That’s how April Photowalk went down.…
We're back in Ikeda Park for Sunday Pick Me Up and yet again we picked up record amounts of trash! Holy moly, we gathered 68kg in only one hour! Thank you to the 40 of you that came out on your day off to help keep the city clean 🙂
Ha, I wasn't able to take photos at SWFCC International Futsal this month but I did manage to grab a quick group photo before I had to leave! It's so great to see this community growing! Look at how many players we got this month! Awesome!
Hey everyone! Yesterday, we had another successful Sunday Pick Me Up event in Shirakawa Park. We had around 50 attendees, and almost all of them were new faces! It's always great to see new people join us and help make a difference in our community.
