It’s the end of another year, and the last event of 2023 was the Christmas Feast at Shooters! I can say without question that Shooters has the best Christmas meal in the city, and when paired with some truly memorable activities, the Small World Christmas Feast is the definitive way to experience a western-style Christmas.
First of all, I’ve really got to give credit to Shooters, I can not understate just how good this Christmas dinner is. Turkey! The real deal! Cooked to perfection! They’ve got some killer mashed potato, veg, and that stuffing? Sheesh that’s some good eats. With the gravy and even cranberry sauce, it’s the closest you can get to a home-cooked Christmas meal this side of the Pacific. Hats off to the Shooters chefs and staff. Really remarkable stuff.
We brought back all of last year’s activities, but had to make some last minute changes and there were a few unexpected outcomes, which made this a pretty memorable Christmas party. First of all, Pass the Parcel, always fun. One of the prizes was a Christmas tree, which everyone decided to decorate with towels and garbage. Good stuff.
Moving onto the Ugly Sweater Competition. No one wore an ugly sweater (besides Will, but I wasn’t just going to hand over a prize without some competition, oh no), so we had to improvise and ended up doing a ‘Best Dressed’ prize, instead. After some strutting of classy fits, somehow or other the Tree (yes, you heard me right) won the prize. What an upset.
We closed the night with Cuppin’ Balls, which everyone appears to have gotten very good at. Maybe they’ve been practicing at home. Always hilarious. Check the pictures. Everyone looks like a damned fool. Also, I learned I can twerk balls into cups attached to my backside. On the first try.
Now that’s talent.
